    Todays game

What a different to the last home game v caley thistle!!!

the scenes in the terraces when a player in tangerine passed to a fellow player also in tangerine. extraordinary incidents haven't occurred in a long long time.

    1st half
started with a good tempo. decent header from Durnan (lack of effort from samson?) seemed in reasonable control then for the last 10/15 of the half saints started to get into the game abit more without them creating a great deal.
    2nd half
started the 2nd abit slow. again without saints creating much but we seemed to be deeper which seemed to give them confidence to get forward. then we gained control of the game again and had numerous chances to score before we did. once we did, we were on cruise control. only disappointment was no clean sheet but too be fair it was a belter of a strike from the boy.

    lewis
didnt need to do much but dealt with what he needed to. maybe could have done better with their goal?? (6)
    Murdoch
got beat a couple of times in the 1st half by their wide player but solid enough (6)
    Durnan
solid. some crucial clearances and also took his goal well (7)
    Scobbie
good to have him back. solid and can see his leadership helping the players around him (7)
    Robson
kept lewis morgan quiet who ripped him apart the last time they played. much improved from recent home game (6)
    Flood
has his critics but WF was back to his best today. covered every blade of grass. immense in the middle of the park. (8) MOTM
    Stanton
worked hard. drove forward and made some good tackles/interceptions. took his goal well which tapped off a good performance (7)
    Fraser
that is the sort of performance SF needs to put in consistently. he worked hard, got stuck in and made the difference today with two assists. when confident can show his potential. (7)
    King
works hard but some of the things he does is laughable. falling over and missing simple passes. he grew into the game but needs to simple. (6)
    Smith
1st half looked impressive and dangerous. 2nd went quiet but worked hard and looks a prospect (6)
    Mcdonald
not his greatest game. his touch and layoffs were abit off at times esp 2nd half but worked hard again. (6)

    subs
    Fyvie
looked good when he came on. some nice passes (4)
    keatings
not on long enough to make huge impact but did have a decent shot near end (2)

    Saints
wasnt overly impressed by them. for the amount of media attention they seem to get they didnt play like i expected them to. some of their set piece "routines" would drive me mad. no wonder their supporters were getting frustrated. couple of decent players but not threatened by them. weve shown today that we can easily beat them if we turn up.

    manager?
another week goes by where no one knows whats happening hahaha. lots of names still getting mentioned but i think Laslo still seems to be the most likely or hughes.

Excellent summary as always Darren. Really enjoyed that today, big improvement in terms of effort and performance. Standouts today for me were Durnan, Scobie, Robson, Fraser and Stanton. King also came into a game second half after a dreadful first 45.

Good as usual Darren. Only thing I'd say is think Durnan deserves an 8 ☺

Just seen the goals again on the zone and there is nothing Harry could have done about their goal. The lad hit it so early and sweetly its a goal of the season contender! He will never score a goal like again.

They started the 2nd half with a very high pressing game. At times, 4/5 up against our back line.

We weathered that and went 2-0 up. Stanton impressing in our ‘having to play a counter game’ phase.

    McKinnons United would’ve crumbled.

Scobbie is helping Robson along it seems. A talker.
