So back on topic, his main problem (apart from his temperament) is that he's not consistent enough. When he's on his game, he's one of the best passers of the ball in the league, no doubt. When his radar isn't dialled in, he needs to recognise that it isn't and make better choices and not try as many Hollywood passes.

It wasn't Shelvey's performance that cost us the Bournemouth game, that's for sure. He made some important tackles and did some decent defensive work I thought. No way he should be captain though, even when Lascelles is not playing. Give it to Ritchie.
