Peter Sarstedt - where Did You go to Moi Luverly but I think he was India

Depending on whether Australia is classed as East Asia, we do of course have 'Two Little Boys'.....

    YES

Terry Butcher was in the 1990 World Cup squad that recorded "World in Motion" which reached number 1 in the UK Singles Charts. As noted above he was born in Singapore.

A folk singing friend of mine and my brother's, Mick Burman, used to sing every week at Burton Folk Club at the Barley Mow in Stapenhill. He occasionally did parodies. One of which was that Sarstedt song, changed to be set in Swadlincote........ The bits I remeber are.....

You live in a fancy coal board cottage, on the Boulevard Swadternel, where you keep your Elvis Presley records, and your friend of Jackie Bodell, yes you do

I know where you go to ma duck, when you're alone in your bed, I know that no thoughts surround you, cos I can look right through your head

I see nobody got it right, so here's the singer and song that goes to the top of my list today:

No 2 today, is Classical Gas by Mason Williams. Here's a very good example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EEzyrpfrPEI

And No 3 is, Joy to The World (Group/singer unknown although the male tenor sounds like Pavrotti) : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O5hj518Iugk

It's the time of the year to choose my Carol for the season, so it's time I made a start.
