Listening to Huey Morgan (R6) this morning...played Nick Drake’s ‘River Man’ and an all time favourite...John Martyn’s ‘Solid Air’...genius, brings back so many memories.

I remember booking John Martyn at uni with his then double bass player Danny Thompson (I think). Excellent set. Great year - we had Family, Curved Air, Ronnie Lane, Martyn, String Driven Thing, Alberto y lost Trios and others that altzheimers has taken away.....

He's a sod is Al Tzheimer!! There's much I'm happy to forget (conveniently or otherwise!) so long as he leaves my Ram memories alone!!
Anyway, had a bit of the *** Pistols and The Stranglers this am!! A bit of the Ramones and Green Day later methinks!!

You were a hell of an Ents Officer to book that lot Rog...no need to perform yourself. John Martyn was a flawed genius imo...went too early and so tragically, but ‘Solid Air’ and ‘One World’ remain among my favourite albums despite my world no longer smelling of incense and patchouli...with a hint of mouldy Afghan - the coat not the dog!

Never ‘got’ the *** Pistols, mac. Everything seemed to shift from a bit of stoned love to people in bin liners gobbin’ at each other...and they were crap (imo).

Fair do's rA!! I can't easily explain why I liked (or perhaps was intrigued by) the Pistols tbf. I generally liked Punk and still do. My missus thinks I'm weird but she likes Abba!!!!
