Whitesnake - Ain't No Love In The Heart Of The City. A Karaoke classic from Cuvs, nowhere near as good as the Bobby Bland original but I'm listening to RAAAAWWWK RADIO this am so I'll take it for the singalong halfasong that Coverdale made it.

Inspired by yesterday's 'Hoots Mon' post, I've been sifting through my 'Instrumentals' jukebox 45s collection (I no longer have a jukebox so its back to the dansette when I spin 'em), recently listened to:

B Bumble And The Stingers - 'Nut Rocker'. Another 'studio band', from USA this time. Classical tune gets piano madness treatment
Booker T And The MG's - 'Soul Limbo'. Always makes me think 'Does that radio over there receive long wave?'
The Bar Kays - 'Soul Finger'. Party music in extremis, and one of those 'instrumentals that isn't'
Focus - 'Hocus Pocus'. Dutch Prog Lunacy, this is the 6 minute 42 full studio version which means the grooves are micro-thin, I have to do the 'penny on the arm' trick, and it still jumps like a b*tch. that's Prog for ya!

    Instrumentals. Love 'em.

    Groovin with Mr Bloe
    The Kid
Sliced tomatoes (sampled by Fat Boy Slim for the "check it out now" theme to the FIFA (forget which year) video game
    The Horse
    The Champion

... and so many more. Great to hear and to dance to.

Ah Deke Leonard, what a star, but I prefer the earlier Spunk Box off "2oz of plastic...."
