    currently listening to

    Ken Dodd - 'Tears'

Rest in peace and all that but I never found him funny, a bit too 'silly' for my tastes. However, 'Tears' is one of my favourite songs of all time despite having heard some hopeful soul or other murder it almost every weekend at The Chequers in Risley (me included once or twice)

Trivia Time: Which hit from the eighties repeats the 'Tears For Souvenirs' chorus line?

Whilst like Andy he wasn't top of my comedian list he was a truly top notch performer. He was so quick with his endless supply of jokes that you had to admire his ability to 'get' his audience and keep them tittering incessantly!
I went to see him eons ago and I never stopped laughing as did everybody there!!
RIP Doddy, keep 'em laughing where ever you are.

Speaking as a former Diddy man (a green one) on stage in Coventry - for which I was rewarded with a bag of marshmallows by Ken, may I just say RIP.

Seems ages ago but its hard to believe it was only last year

I will put forward that it was "sampled" in the Bonzos "I'm Bored" off Gorilla but that was way before the 80s (late 60s I'd guess) so will have to pass on this one
