I have. I just like music, all of it. Heck I've even enjoyed jazz. I may listen continuously to 1 type of music, say trance or techno. But I'll listen to some and when younger friends or my kids listen to it.
I don't fancy all of the modern era songs, but I must say, some are quite good.

Graham Parker And The Rumour -White Honey, from the 'Pink Parker' EP, no finer example of the EP form, four absolutely monster R&B cuts. For 15 months or so around this time, GP and The Rumour were the hottest ticket in town, they took no prisoners including giving Thin Lizzy a run for their money on part of the Live And Dangerous tour.

Song of the day : Down Under - Men at Work. Really 1 funny and cool song, don't you agree. Makes Australia like a very hip place.

    Notable mentions:

    1. Mandy - Barry Manilow - linky : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2XeSQVWleqY

What a fantastic song. Manilow's magic on display.

    2. Dancing Queen = Abba.

    3. Ya Mustapha - Bob Azzam. I wonder if macs remembers this. I remember listening it when I was kid and after so many years got to listen again thanks to You Tube.

Having mentioned some iconic 'pop stars' who we tragically lost spurred me to dig out my favourite from the late 50's and early 60's- the late great Johnny Kidd killed in a car accident at the tender age of 30. His 'Shakin all over ' is still being covered 60 years later.

A real star of UK rock'n'roll who I've featured many times in my magazine and is still revered by the rock'n'roll community. His mark 2 backing band, who called themselves just 'The Pirates' were one of my favourite bands during the punk era, pumping out fuelled up R&B very much like Dr Feelgood - check out their live stuff on Youtube for evidence. I saw original drummer Clem Cattini at a gig in London not long ago, still knocking out a rhythm at 80! The spirit of Johnny Kidd lives on in bands such as The Fireballs UK, not copycats, just a band with the same feel

In many ways he was before his time or he contributed to the development of both British Rock and Roll and British R&B depending on your opinion!! I just love his 'A shot of Rhythm and Blues'. RIP Johnny and thanks.

Now listening to Headcat - 'Crossroads'. Headcat was Lemmy's rockabilly side project and a damned fine racket they made. Typical of my 'rubbing shoulders with the stars' in reverse, of the three in this band I never met superstar Lemmy, have interviewed well-known Slim Jim once and met him in a group a few times, and have relatively unheard-of Danny Harvey on speed dial

That's way cool AF. I must say I was a late follower of music, didn't care much for it when I was young. Of course growing up, the school and **** years, one does like the music of the day, but I wasn't so into it as I am now.
If there was a justification of making something into religion, I think music would be the logical choice.
