It's not just her pipes that are still 'seriously good'!! Saw her years ago, she brought the house down!
Currently listening to 'To Love Somebody' by Lulu off a vid I took last night at her gig in Edinburgh. If you want to get down with a 69 year-old with a SERIOUSLY good set of pipes and a sh*t-hot band, get up to Buxton on 19th November. As far as I could tell she's lost nothing from her heyday, what fortune she was in town (I'm here for the rugby)

I didn’t dislike all Punk, mac. Loved the Clash, Stranglers, Blondie and Joy Division amongst others. Just thought the Pistols were totally reliant on the ‘shock’ factor. Johnny Rotten/Lydon obviously continues to have a talent for self publicity, but beyond that I thought he was a waste of space...and still is.
Yes he's not done bad for himself. Mind you so has Trump!!
Song of the Day - Glad You Came - The Wanted
Notables:
1. I Can See Clearly Now - Johnny Nash
2. Larger than Life - Backstreet Boys
3. Angel of the Morning - Juice Newton
For all you Dusty Springfield fans - mac, Rom and MA at least - just in case you don’t know, there is a current theatre tour called ‘Son of a Preacher Man’ which tells the Dusty story. I went to the Kinks equivalent last year and it really was excellent. Going to the Carole King one next year - still think ‘Tapestry’ is an all time great album - they really can be good, the next best thing to the real thing. Think the Dusty one is in Nottingham in late January/early Feb but if you can’t cope with going there I think it’s also on in Chester, Shrewsbury, Coventry and Bradford I think. Personally I’m not that much of a fan but it might be worth checking out.
