I'm not sure credibility is the right word. Certainly the more the current mob completely screw everything up so Labour rises in people's thinking. But it really is only relative. If we're talking absolutes we have a choice between two of the biggest bunch of nonentities I can remember in British politics. When someone as overwhelmingly average as Priti Patel can get into the cabinet it is shuddering. [And yes, the same can be said of some of the absolute numbskulls in the heights of the Labour party, not least its leader.]

I can't remember if it was this thread where someone had a go at McDonnell for planning for a run on the pound. I can't stand the guy but how can he possibly be criticised for something which may happen? He's not debating the rights and wrongs of the issue, but planning for its eventuality. By all means criticise McDonnell for what he is (I do), but anyone who criticises judicious planning ahead is, shall we say, possibly brain dead.

You're probably right. I should have put "As long as Theresa May leads the Tories, the Labour party will only grow in relative credibility".

To be fair a decent opppsition would have finished off this rotten “government” by now. The Tories have got rid of one liar and put another in her place, and will no doubt continue to lurch from one crisis to the next.

Crooks and charlatans the lot of em.

[QUOTE=sidders;38701246]Adjacent to a post where I tell you I'm not a Corbyn fan, you imply that I have full confidence in him.

Read it again Sid, I implied you had MORE confidence in him than I have quite a bit different to FULL confidence but you twist it to suit your argument.

And even a Tory like you (neither Tory nor Labour fanatic, my arse)

Just because at the moment I don't like Corbyn and the present Labour party doesn't mean I am pro tory. I always make my decision on voting on what is on offer, hence voting Labour 3 times from 97 and also during the Heath Wilson years.
What your arse as to do with it only you know, maybe because you are talking out of it, let's hope for those near by you don't have to clear your throat.

Yep that’s much better than one of your dull, pseudo intellectual posts where you waffle on about nothing.

    Well done!

Reading this thread and seeing how very few people on this site support Corbyn's Labour and then looking at the position for voters as whole (40%) it does confirm the impression that Notts fans are largely old and male, and in some cases, bigoted. Someone referred to Owen Jones as 'queer', and it passed unnoticed. On other forums with proper moderation, calling someone 'queer' would earn a ban. But it's homophobia not racism, so that's OK on here.

Here's a link which shows a breakdown of voting in the last election, which maybe shows why so few on here support Labour. Women are more likely to vote Labour than men, as are the well educated, and people working full-time. Just the uneducated male coffin dodgers in the Tory camp now.
