    Ciaran Clark

Captained Ireland tonight against Denmark in a 0-0 match. Really impressed with him. He hardly let anybody past him and never made a mistake. Great defensive work and took being captain well. I'd like to see him next to Lascelles in the next match.

Me too. Lejeune is still finding his feet and I think a trip to Old Trafford needs someone who's already found them.

He's done really well since he came here.

I wasn't impressed when we bought him but he's more than proved me wrong.

IŽd play him at LB along with Lejeune and Lascelles.

Aye, if Lejeune's going to play I'd rather have Clark instead of Manquill-no.

A bit of rotation and rest isn't a bad thing with what we have. It can be as much of a long term benefit to all.
Clark hasn't really done too much wrong. He gets his chance due to injury but then again this will constantly happen.
The worry is Mbemba, because between the 4 of them we are well catered for in terms of back up but something's amiss with Mbemba and I'm not quite sure of what it is. Maybe another trust issue.

The thing is, if we put Clark up against pacey wingers we could end up having no CB cover.
Manquillo might not be pulling up the trees people think he should but we are not getting steamrollered and he is still pacey enough to not get left.
Not too long ago we were slaughtered in those positions and were left literally for dead.
He's not as bad as we think.

Obviously we can always do miles better but time can turn a so so Manquillo into a hmmmm Manquillo and then a accepted Manquillo.

Sometimes it's best to use the bullets you have attached to your gun before you change the cartridge, unless that cartridge ceases to operate.
