I've gone into frustrating detail on this one a few times so I'll be brief.

Third place Nick Pickering, tree-trunk-legged lummox

Second place Mick Coop, appeared to have had all memory of the game 'football' erased from his memory the day before he signed

First Place Bobby Campbell, Bradford legend and player of the year for them both before and after those eleven disastrous games for us, he clearly didn't want to be a Ram - I recall him swearing at the pop side, anecdotally he also spat at it and thre a sod of the pitch at it. Perversely, he scored 4 goals in those 11 games, not a bad return!

For crap footballers we can go round the houses on who was technically a worse footballer than the other. But for impact there are only a couple of real options to consider.

3: Vic Moreland: I'll give him special mention but the point is that he was one of the Tommy Docherty signings that turned the club from a European regular to a relegation cert. We also had to watch him week in week out getting turned over by Kenny Dalglish on the opening credits to Grandstand.

2: Bob Malcolm: Indicative of the Davies era, played one great game then vanished without trace. Contract paid up coz we couldn't sell him and was never seen of again in the professional game. The impact of those purchases (all the way from Fielhaber to Fagan) are still being felt at this club.

1: John Robertson: The deal that caused Taylor and Clough to never speak again, and for almost zero benefit. No player can even start to claim a worse impact on this club than that he permanently soured the relationship between the greatest management duo not only this club but any club has ever seen.

BaaLocks Have to make you the winner with Bob Malcolm. Thought we had a world beater on his debut but after that don't think I've seen a Derby player so poor Jewel eventually had enough and sent him and Granty on loan to QPR He eventually got caught on the hard shoulder of the M1drunk near Chesterfield banned from driving and club paid him off ( we do get em )

    Mikel Beck,
    Bob Malcolm,
    Bobby Campbell
I honestly think our worst ever signing was Brian Attley he was a left back from Wales and was simply dreadful.

How about the second best left back in France, François Grenet, if memory serves me right?

I think it was Attley who carelessly gave the corner away from which Plymouth scored in that famous cup tie. It might have been John Barton though, the other fb. Webster/Robson they weren't.

Vic Moreland was actually quite a tidy player , signed with Billy Caskey if I recall who was a big clumsy centre forward lacking in any skill whatsoever
