Lascelle and Shelvey - England call ups, or not.

I was thinking about this early and as much as i want our players to get their international recognition, i'm fairly happy they didn't get called up this time (ignoring Lascelles has an injury).

I think they probably deserved it, seeing some of the players in the squad but i think it's much better for us they haven't been.

I think plays into Ghosts view of England not really meaning as much to watch these days.

i was talking about this last night in the boozer, i wouldnt be surprised if Shelvey tells Southgate to feck off when his call up comes (if it ever does)

The buffoon has picked practically everyone possible for England ahead of Shelvey, players that cant even get a game for their clubs are in contention ahead of Shelvey.

As a result, it has devalued the meaning of playing for your country imo, im never bothered about watching the internationals anymore. Used to love them during Italia 90 / Euro 96 etc, the lads played for the shirt and players were picked on merit not because they played for a fashionable club of the media

I think they deserve it and certainly not look out of place from what I've seen and more likely enhance.
However, as with our luck, they would get in and come back injured.
I'd rather we had their focus and extra energy and England, Southgate and co, can do one.

Sothgate has picked everyone but shelvey cause shelvey aint good enough

if 10-12 players went injured im sure he may get a look in

lascelles would be good for a shout
but not in the first 25 squad and certainly not in a first choice squad

so you think Jack Cork, Jake Livermore and Lewis Cook are better footballers than Shelvey?

yep in the formation england are trying to develop

quick football passed through the middle whilst keeping shape

shelvey would fit into that like a black man in kkk meeting

alright if you want to hoof the ball from one end to the other ,but england arent playing like that
