Total agreement with shedka post # 27 in relation to League set-up.
Those who remember the 18-team leagues & pre play-offs etc will remember the tedium of 'dead rubbers' before half the season had gone.
I was thinking the other day that the English leagues must be a bit envious of our smaller leagues, there are thousands of nothing-at-stake games down there even as early as now.
If I was going to do anything to our leagues it would be to increase or decrease the current 42 teams to 48 or 36 so there are 12-team leagues down the divisions, 10-team leagues being a tad short. Tho I'm fully aware that 6-in or 6-out ain't gonna happen in a hurry cos we don't live in an ideal world. But 3 x12s or 4 x 12s would be perfect.

The overall issue of the football world's 3 pts for a win, 1 point for a draw that ahlltan mentioned is one that severely needs analysed but FIFA are utter pish. Nobody seems to challenge it but I've had very strong views on it since its inception. You guys go on about the SPFL & the SFA but honestly, FIFA is so bad on so many different counts that it's a sad reflection on life that they get away with it. Instance if they ever get round to timing the ball in play it'll be decades too late.

One thing I'd like to see introduced is say an extra point if you score 3+ goals, guys like Jose at man Utd are killing the game with this "I must not lose" attitude.

I havn't researched this and don't know where to find it anyway. But one thing confuses me a bit - there's a lot of talk about how clubs that didn't make the elite section couldn't afford the facilities or coaches. So, ok I get that the clubs themselves will benefit from new Scottish talent coming through their academies but shouldn't the SFA be funding the thing in quite a big way so that (say) 15-20 clubs are able to develop talent at the same level? Because this is where the next generation of Scottish internationalists will come from.

Sorry for the ramble - does anyone know if the SFA have funded this to some extent or is the investment solely down to the clubs?
