November 12th 2008, we were in the process of knocking Chelsea out of the Carling Cup at Stamford Bridge. That was a good night, even though I left before we took the penalties.

It was the Gatwick Express that stuffed me Alf. I was booked on the first flight out of Gatwick in the morning, so no problem I thought. But the first train down to Gatwick in the morning didn't get me there in time, so I had to catch the last one the night before and that was at 10.30, again no problem unless the game went into extra time, which it did. So I missed the pens and had to spend 6 uncomfortable hours trying to sleep in a tiny chair at Gatwick Airport. Things you do just to watch a game of football.

Brilliant night that Sinkov, seeing the shed full to bursting with Claret, 500 of us would have out sung them as only Arsenal could beat them on being like a library, but so many. . . . . . . I was so proud

The only time I have had to leave a match was the Celtic invasion, I left 15 minutes before the end to get back to the Hop where I was working as a barman before the boss got back from the same match.
