    O/t fao '55

    Have you watched the series 'The Vietnam War' on BBC4? Something I think you may be interested in but may be totally wrong
    Produced by Ken Burns, a 10 part series, it's probably the most graphic and emotional adaptation you will see.
    The last two episodes had my head totally done in.

    If I may say...Shocking and very harrowing at times. But brilliant. I came upon it mid way through and watched (with some difficulty at times) the second half of the series. Within just a few weeks the entire series is being shown again and I saw episode 1 last week. The US involvement happened in my ****s and early twenties and I have always mistakenly thought I knew quite a bit about it. Not so. Happened to watch a lot of the the final episode again last night. As I say brilliant, if that is the right term.

    Q, the secret audio footage from Kennedy first, then LBJ and finally that b@stard Nixon was fascinating. Pure desperation concerning a situation where there would never be a winner.
    You are bang on about the footage, very harrowing and extremely upsetting at times.

    Hollywood could spend billions on a Vietnam film and never even touch the surface.

    I could not believe just how much of a scheming, deceitful and bared faced liar Nixon actually was.
