you would need the players permission to look at his contract for a start

i would say at least 8 weeks and proabaly longer from when it started
and as some have suggested a week im nearer the mark

if you was buying a secoond hand car dealers maybe a week but a multi million pound turnover company with many many contracts no way

Rubbish. The player holds a copy of a contract and so does the club. Under due dilligence, the potential buyer can look at any document held by the club.

The process will take time though.

no you don't need players permission. by law the "new employer" has to be given this info before any takeover takes place.

initially the info may be given with names removed - so anonymous - if more than 1 potential new employer.

according to the govt that is,

That's common sence which I see lacking in Pboro's quoted reply.

The companies who do due dilligence have several frontmen each suitably expert in his own domain and dozens of additional staff to do the running around and donkey work.

You would expect any successful businessman or entrepreneur to know that. But hang on----- says someone who on a former post showed he didn't know the difference between freehold and leasehold yet claims to be a successful property owner.

Of course it didn't take clever dick Ashley a week to do his due diligence. He thought he would save a few bob by not doing it and look where he landed up by being a cheapskate.
