Would your job be the reason you know that?

Agreed. He gatecrashed the boycott cup tie and sat amongst the other 200 gatecrashers in the JK & confessed to be one of them.

It's no secret, as even Spiers admits he was raised on going to Aye Brokes. Those saying he is of the green @rse cheek persuasion need to check your snouts!!! He's now the Chief Futba man at The Times and he was backing up the Joker I mentioned in the OP, who was at it on Twitter on Saturday......as in his match report he has Paul Quinn as our Saviour for the season and he's only signed for us for a few more weeks. So that shows what he knows. I doubt if Spiers was at the game Saturday either with Palmer having the gig.

His kids support Celtic, he doesn't. He does have a soft spot for United but wouldn't call himself a supporter. He supported Rangers when he was young but lost interest due to the bigotry on show.

I think in this case it was just a bit of lazy journalism not really grabbing the lack of importance put on it by United. I had a work colleague who is a Dumbarton fan who rarely brings up football even say to me on Monday I see you lost to Crusaders. The result was noticed by a lot of people. For what it is worth I think we should have treated it a bit more seriously with the new manager coming in because it did put more spotlight on the game and how the players would respond to the new man.
