Then again there is Hayseed Dixie in the same genre, here seen doing an interesting version of Black Sabbath's "War Pigs"

I think some cover versions are superb. Eg:

Always something there to remind me by Naked Eyes

Don't cry for me Argentina by Madonna

And of course my current favourite I only want to be with you by Bay City Rollers.

Incidentally, another of my favourites - American Pie by Don McClane has a cover by Madonna. It's good too. And the Don approves, probably due to the royalties Madonna paid

Is that the same Madonna cover version that features in several lists of the all time worst cover versions? As has been said here before there is no such thing as bad music as long as someone likes it. You have just saved Ms Ciccone from breaking that rule!

The there is this rather splendid cover of that good old Dead Kennedys track that the swear filter will prevent me from naming. Its not actually that bad considering its a French band! Anyone under the age of 16 is recommended not to click the link

They do sanitised covers of a load of punk songs, but like the bluegrass covers above are more satirical than anything else.

PS In her case I would need to be very drunk....

So many great ones to choose from but these to me are outstanding...Gram Parsons, ‘Love Hurts’, Robert Wyatt, ‘Shipbuilding’, Jennifer Warnes, ‘Famous Blue Raincoat’, Camper Van Beethoven, ‘Pictures of Matchstickmen’ and Jimi Hendrix, ‘All Along the Watchtower’.

Nice to see Hendrix in there although I still like the original. Nice to see there's no Bay City Rollers or Middle of the Road in that line up

Sorry Rog...no plagiarism intended. Love the original but, even as a Dylan fan...love the Hendrix version even more.
Agree too about the Byrds and frankly I’d rather do most things than listen to Neil Diamond.
