Am expecting us to be all over them - then same old......need for goals.

Other than a heavy defeat to Man Utd ( which I omitted from my preview) they had a pretty decent start to the season , including 2 cup wins.

The wheels have come off since . They have the knack of losing 1-0 ( 3 times) we have the knack of winning 1-0( 4 times)

Suggests a 1-0 win to us, if only football was that predictable. A banana skin to be avoided on Saturday.

Our lot might be down in the dumps and just plain knackered and jet lagged after the latest round of internationals?

Its about time we had a brilliant home performance against a team (on paper) we should be demolishing, I don't want any excuses on Saturday, with Norder's post (same old, same old) we have all had a belly full of that, never mind the position we are in the League, a great win with a very good performance is long overdue.

    Nicely put together Donz

Not going to happen Alto - we simply cannot play that way. Negate the opposition and nick it with a single goal, boring it maybe but it's really bloody effective.

I don't get it Alto, Swansea have played five away games, they've only lost two of them, both by a single goal, they've kept clean sheets in three of those five games, Spurs couldn't score against them, they've only conceded three goals in those five games. What are you seeing (on paper) that makes you say we should be demolishing them ? Everything on the paper I'm looking at tells me it's going to be a very difficult game to win.

As you know I'm not into stats much Sinkov even if I said "On Paper", its just the position of Swansea in the league compared to us, coupled with them losing a couple of important players, from what I have seen of Swansea (on TV and internet) this season they look toothless, and with Clement in charge who IMO is praised too highly.

After saying that we all know if we don't perform then yes it will be a tight game and one we can lose, hence "a very good performance is long overdue".

"Negate the opposition and nick it" is very boring BT, and I think you'll find a lot of Clarets (and other teams fans) don't like it, it may keep the one's who pride themselves that their team is in the Prem, but I want to my/our Club to prosper not just survive with negative performances.

could say they've been unlucky Donz.....with goals against being not that terrible.

funny that from us and below.....it's mostly the newly promoted that've fared better, with Brighton (11) Newcastle (10) and Huddersfield equalling them on 13 - only other is Southampton with 11 against.
So Swans defence and goal can't be that bad - they had the most of possession but failed to score and lost by the 1 goal to Brighton/Wham and Newcastle - with nil draws aginst Southampton and Spurs.
Can but hope their dearth of goals - continues on Saturday.

thanks for the article - btw.

    Cheers.

Interesting to see we have the 4th best defence in the PL and 12th best attack.
They have three fewer goals for and 4 more goals away. The 7 goal difference makes an 11 point difference and a 12 place difference.
It shows the benefits of a solid defence with 5 goals conceded to City and Chelsea.
So we’ve conceded only 4 to the rest in 9 games.
