There was talk of an Arthur Wharton statue wasn't there as the first black professional footballer?

That would be easy to get the funding for in these PC times but he wasn't a footballing great, more of a footballing pioneer.

There's a plaque outside Curzon Ashton's Ground commemorating Arthur Wharton, but the statue there is of 3 locally born heroes Geoff Hurst and Simone Perroti (Both Ashton) plus Jimmy Armfield (Denton)Attachment 7207
