    Your Favourite Own Goal

Lets revel in the plight of others a bit eh?

I'm guessing, for those of a certain age, that Norman Hunter's off-the-knee number on good friday '72 would be a favourite, but for me it's one from earlier in that season - saturday november 6th '71, a miserable foggy day, Div 1 whipping boys Crystal Palace were in town and we did them 3-0. the third goal was a comedy classic from Palace defender Bobby Bell, who took possession of the ball on the edge of the pen area at the Ozzy end, and noncholantly, without looking, passed it back to his goalie....who wasn't there. It seemed to take 30 seconds or so to travel from boot to net, it was certainly long enough for the crowd celebration to start before the ball had crossed the line.

More painfully, I recall really clearly a Dave Mackay OG which put us out of the FA Cup against QPR in 1970. I remember seeing it, in colour, as the only piece of footage carried on the 6 o'clock news that night (the embargo til 9 wasn't in force that season), I guess that footage has been wiped, but there's 5 mins of black and white footage ex Pathe news available on the internet, nice coverage of the game from multiple cameras.

    anyone?

I'll have to think about this as far the Forest goes. But I do know which is my worst - 1991 FA Cup Final - of all players, our best player that year Des Walker. But I don't blame him.
    It's football after all.

I'm sure you feel the same about Keogh.

He scored one the match before a Derby game at BBG, I recall we had great fun in the Pop side shouting 'SHOOT!' every time he got the ball

Dean Saunders loved playing against Adams. He made him go dizzy that year at Highbury when Arsenal almost blew the league.

Was actually a top player, just not against Deano.

I think on the balance of probabilities I think my favourite was another FA Cup Final Winner, in 1987 by Gary Mabbut for Coventry,
I had a huge bet (still in college at the time, so huge then has to be in context) on Coventry. After 2 mins, I had a heart attack when Clive Allen scored goal number 49 for Spurs.

I seem to remember one by a Blackburn defender, maybe Hendry, who lobbed his keeper from outside the box at the BBG.
