    Food your Mam used to make

    Just got to remembering my Mothers baking
    Made fantastic scufflers & oven bottom cakes What better smell when you came in from school
    Any more, anyone?

    My mum made excellent home made Yorkshire puddings they used to rise and stay risen. The key she's since told me was putting fat in the tray moulds and heating it up first and leaving them in the oven as long as you could. Also whisking up the mixture ready to put into the hot moulds as it kept the air in the mixture so it wasn't dead.

    Me mam did a lovely Bubble'n'squeak.
    Leftover mashed spuds and sprouts, mixed together and done in a frying pan until it all turned a bit brown and crispy round the edges. Just the thing for a cold winter night!
