28,000 pubs closed on Britain since the 1970s, that's about 2 per day for the last 40 years. Not sure at the moment why anyone would think opening one as a pub would be a viable proposition?
Changing demographics of the area made the pub uneconomic to run.
Not to mention the geographics
Closure of Millmoor finished off several pubs in Masbro'. Those pubs were usually packed with football fans on match days, and that brought in a lot of income (Thanks again, Boothy!)
