    Chris Coleman...

...to Sunderland then. Seems slightly odd to me. Did quite well with Wales building on Gary Speed’s foundations, but not done that much at club level has he? Tough job at Sunderland...seem to have become a bit of a basket case recently imo.

It seems like a crazy decision to me. Coleman's managerial capital is as high as it's ever been. He emerged largely unscathed from Wales' recent failed qualifying campaign and still had a good squad and a good ranking/seeding for the next Euro qualification process. I could understand him leaving for a Premier League job, but taking on a basket case of a team with little money, high expectations, and an all to real possibility of relegation to league 1 is insane.

If he'd have hung on a week I'm sure he'd have been in contention for WBA job!

There is no chance at all they will get relegated they have a good squad They have players returning from lengthy injuries. I would be very surprised if they don't finish comfortably above halfway

No club is ever too good to go down as Norwich Wolves and Southampton have ably demonstrated in recent years. Yes on paper Sunderland have a good squad, many however are overpaid ex prem players who think the championship is beneath them, or who have a contract that will see them until they likely retire.

For me its a gamble a big gamble, down ward momentum is hard to stop and their owner does not seem to give a fig for the club, and Coleman last failed at Coventry I believe who continued the slide he started.

I cannot see him being the right guy to save them.

..... and he might just come in for his mate Ledley as player/coach
