    Marvellous Motherwell win at Pittodrie

A double from Louis Moult either side of the break gave Motherwell a deserved 2-0 win over Aberdeen. It was a terrific performance and the perfect tonic ahead of the League Cup final. - External Link

Fabulous result at a difficult venue and the perfect preparation for next week.

I absolutely love beating Aberdeen and sticking it to them and their arrogant supporters - they are second only to Celtic in that regard. Radio Scotland is always a must listen after we've scudded them, Willie Miller and Richard Gordon can never hide their pain and nor can they sound even remotely impartial, it's great getting it right up them.

I was confident we would get a good result today. In our 2 games against the Dons so far this season, our opponents were at their best when sitting in and defending in depth. That was never going to be acceptable to their fans today and I thought, in an open encounter we'd have their beating unless we shot ourselves in the foot.

In the end it was a deserved win and good to see Moult netting a brace. Well done to mangement and players. A useful 3 points in view of our tough programme in the next few weeks.
