    The New Era

Well done Shabba, the players and the back room staff.

That was outstanding today, put a huge smile on my face.

What we have been craving for a long time - a team that looks like it knows what it's supposed to be doing, playing at pace with passion and desire.

Every player can be proud of that performance today, very unlucky not to have run up 6 or 7 goals.

Fyvie was immense, as was King and Fraser. Best game I've seen from Robson, Scobbie making a big difference at the back.

From my seat I'm sure (and so were a good few around me) that Fraser's effort off the bar went over the line and spun out....

As for big Shabba - loved seeing him prowl about the technical area, full of energy.

    Roll on next week

We have waited a year and half for a performance like that in the championship. High tempo, crisp passing, using width, attacking formation using wing backs. Should have been a lot more than 3. We keep performing like that we will go up.

You must have been sitting near me then as i thought the same.

Its great to see that the players have been given a good kick up the arch and i think told to express themselves a bit! Durnan had a couple of runs today that were different class along with 2 sublime diagonal balls that went straight to their men in acres of space. What i liked best was how far up the park Doc and Robson were at times with others filling in when required.

Great to see Miller and Kerr put back in their place!

Just think, a couple of months ago we never managed a single shot on target against that lot... I haven’t seen united play like that since hartleys last gig. Loved shabba’s goal reactions, not gonna get carried away after one game though... but that was ****ing brilliant!!! Shed Rule

Between us , St Mirren, Pars and Livi this second quarter of the season is likely to be defining. Whichever team can manage to win 8 or 9 out of 10 I suspect is going to establish a points advantage which will prove difficult for the others to reel back in. So far we've won 3 out of the 4 so let's keep pushing on..........

Pars and livi will flounder a bit (see my predictions about top 4 before start of season). I think livi will fight for 4th but i am shocked at how bad falkirk have become - until i see kerr and miller on the team sheet ICT and falkirk will improve i reckon. IF, thats a big IF, we can play with that tempo in every game - in spells of course - we can win this. St Mirren arent a great side by any manner they just wanted it more - until maybe now.

    Good to be thinking positive.

The team played well today against a mediocre Falkirk team,United were effective today in every department,Closing down, foraging for lost causes ,excellent wide play ,a solid defence with the midfield quelling the majority of Falkirk's lacklustre trespassing into the United half.
Occasionally glanced into the direction of the dugouts and the passion and energy SHAB'S showed during that game was mental,he kicked every ball and breathed every breath that the United team today
One game doesnt make a season but if thats a start of what we are going to watch week in week out then im already excited about Brechin game next week
So good to see so many folk leaving Tannadeechie smiling , happy and full of praise like a bad , dark cloud has been blown into oblivion
Well done to all concerned at United and all your hard work will pay dividends

He was superb today. Great performance by whole team though. Can't remember the last time we dominated a game like that for 90 minutes.
