Sam Johnstone - We Could Do Without This

I’ve read a snippet today admittedly taken from The Sun,that the Bog Rolls are lining up a deal for Johnstone presumably in the January window
Am I right in believing we have him on a season long loan deal & that if such rumour is true nothing can be done till the end of the season.
    Can anyone confirm my assumption
Either way I would not like to lose him as I feel he has not only improved dramatically from his time with us last season, but imo he has also been our most successful loan signing since Jimmy Milner

Depends on if their manager wants him. Don't know who their manager is yet, so...

I’d be surprised Foxy, why would he go there as backup when he can start every week at a more prestigious club. That said, rumour has it that ‘yanited’ want to sell asap, as he’s free in June 2018.
One could also argue the premier league football side of things may appeal to SJ, but sandwell cannot guarantee that either.
If the 5m quoted in red tops is true, and IF we have that to spend on a keeper, at this time of year, then you would think SJ would stay put (with a promotion clause of course).
    All ifs & buts folks.

Not too worried tbh. He is probably wanted by a ton of teams, but we should not get into an auction. Either pay a fair fee and a decent wage with a good sell on option or look elsewhere. There are good keepers out there and we do have very good reserves and youth options, so an experienced keeper will work.
