    I agree with that. If he doesn´t invest (and he won´t) then the club will never be worth more than it is right now.

    I'm guessing the bid will be accepted, but, if it is below Ashley's valuation, the shortfall could still be made up with Ashley retaining a level of advertising rights.

    I could see that happening in all honesty.

    If it gets rid of him though. . . I'd take that.

    Maybe the start of it though, was always going to be bid and then counter.
    Yup-I'm sure they wouldn't expect him to take their first offer...but I hope doesn't piss them off enough for them to say 'nah, fuck it'.

    I still say this is all bullish!te and that there will be no deal. Another exercise in public relations and we’ll see nothing done in the transfer window.

    I hope to God I’m wrong but I know this regime. Lying reprobates

    You are so wrong mate.Ashley has indicated in a previous televised interview that he would not stand in the way of a serious investor.Given the status of the current interested party he would face so much anger (more than any previously) if this was allowed to fail. There will be a period of posturing but eventually agreement will be reached.Happy days ahead & a happy Christmas for us long suffering fans.HWTL.

    According to Sky the bid was made last week so the Daily Star was partly right.

    SSN also say that according to Newcastle sources the £300 million bid is not accurate.

    Latest reports;
    Bid total is worth 300 million.
    Both sides are talking.
    Major sticking point re a compensation if we are relegated.

    Ronnie’s newest wild guess: there will be a new bid by the end if next week.
