    The Bryson Question

I've spent a bit of time listening to two Cardiff fans crowing about their current lofty position today, and the subject of Craig Bryson came up. Two main observations - 1) big heart, strong engine, 2) doesn't fit Warnock's style. On balance they think injuries permitting he'll be back in January.

Question is, and bearing in mind comments made on this forum, does Rowett give Bryson, now at least match fit and with confidence restored, one last chance to become the missing piece in our jigsaw? It goes without saying that he has the advantages of knowing (and loving?) the club and not demanding a fee, is it worth Rowett making, lets say, a ten million quid gamble on someone who may or may not be ten percent better?

We don't need a runner, we need creativity.

What someone like Will Hughes? I don't think creativity is in Rowetts plans at the moment, He seems to be focused on trying to get the ball into the box in the quickest way possible with 5 defenders trying to shut up shop! Tippy tappy and spraying balls all over the pitch isn't his way. At the moment it's not pretty to watch but one defeat in ten is an achievement! If we were to get promoted half this team would be gone as Championship football and Prem football is completely different. In the Prem you'll get nowhere without creativity!

No Bryson back for me as Adi says we don't need a runner But it might be out of our hands Cardiff might send him back in Jan if he's as bad as Andy says ( which for a fact isn't true ) We really need a creator. in midfield but that would probably mean playing without one of the wide men

or going to 3 at the back as I've been saying for a year or more now. We have two (and Thorne) proper CDM's now and surely can try it? This will release a slot for a creative CAM to play behind Vydra off Nugent, and between (on form) Lawrence/Russell/Weiman/Anya.

Can Bryson play this role? Doubtful but maybe. So under this system we have Bent/Bennett/Blackman/Martin/Winnall looking for 2 bench positions - hopefully Blackman will stay in Israel permanently for a fee and Martin will be sold. Bent might be released, and hopefully will remain long term injured and thus paid by insurers until his one year extension ends. This leaves Winnall and Bennett as back up strikers which seems OK. That clear out could fund the CAM?

Yes apologies Andy you never said he was bad But hard to see were he would fit in if he comes back Roger says go three at the back that's a really big thing to do mid season Trouble with Brys is he's not best at passing but his plusses are graft reads the game well and is a really good finisher as good as anyone we have in our squad Just glad I'm not a manager
