Share your frustration, but Cook will only be 33 next summer and who can replace him? Broad, and Anderson too for that matter, still have enough left in the tank to be very effective in English conditions, imo, for another season or two and again, who is there coming through to replace them?

All a bit predictable in Oz...especially after the Stokes fiasco which may materialise as being handled incredibly badly...but our batsmen have always been prone to fragile collapse and our bowlers simply don’t have what is needed in Australian conditions i.e. raw pace and hostility.

I think he heard you, posting his first century in 7 years as England surge to 192/3 a mere 135 runs or so, short of Australia's 1st innings.

4-0 loss, another forgetful Ashes for England. Can the ODIs bring any difference?

    Or is it forgettable?

I very much doubt it, especially without Stokes.

Maybe he’ll be back by the NZ leg.

Forgettable. Time to bring in a new guard. 1st 2 out would be Anderson and Cook. Beating Australia on their own soil should be the goal, and this lot aren't capable, so move on.
