    OT - The Ashes

Not a big fan of cricket but the Ashes and 50 overs WC will interest me.

England heading for defeat in the 1st Test. Australia need just 56 runs for the win.

    England 302 and 195

    Australia 328 and 114 n.o.

    Day 4 close.

56 runs required on day 5 tomorrow.

Unfortunately, England got a dose of 'he's bowling fast mam, he might hurt me'!! Wimps, a few round the ear and they wet themselves!!

Cricket and the fortunes of the England team affect my mood almost as much as derby's fortunes, and cricket in general is definitely 'my' game, so a bit hacked off (and bleary eyed) at the moment. Not switching on this eve, watching NFL instead

Australia haven't lost in Brisbane since 1988 I think and victory was never in doubt. The partnership of Bancroft and Warner combined for the 173 needed to overhaul England.
Australia won by 10 wickets and lead the Ashes 1-0

Root says for much of the game we outplayed the Aussies!!!
*******s!! For much of the game 2 ordinary sides! Then, when it mattered, England cowered in the corner!! Steve Smith showed how ordinary England's bowling was then the wimps came into bat! As usual, when you really need him, Cooke goes awol!! A few decent spells of FAST bowling and we brown stain our pants, then our slow medium 'couldn't frighten a mouse' bowlers (they ought to switch to crown green bowls!!) were made to look like pussies!!
The truth Rootie is .... for much of the match we were poor (so were they) but when the Aussies begwn to remotely look like a test team we crept into our little burrows!
Unless the batsmen grow a pair and the bowlers are given England conditions it could be 5-0!!
