I actually dreamt England won. Only to wake up to the reality of another defeat.

Moeen doesn't make a big score, we lose. Our batting is really poor to have to rely on him and Root all the time, and we never seem to be able to handle the ball bouncing above ankle height. Frustratingly, the Australians aren't that great themselves!

Our players need to play less international tests and get some games in big bash or IPL to experience these conditions.

I set the alarm early to watch the phoenix rising from the ashes. I saw one ball.

Are you sure you mean that last sentence Adi as I think just the opposite is true. The way they play is too much bash and not enough grit

Abysmal is the word. The next test is in Perth where England haven't won since Callaghan was Prime Minister. Plus this is likely the last test at the WACA, I can't anything beyond a series wrap up.

So it would seem. Wonder if any team has managed to lose by ‘an innings and...’ from a first innings position of 365-4 ever before, because that’s what we’re on target to do! Ridiculous.
Really hope this doesn’t prove to be the ruination of Joe Root - England’s most accomplished batsman for years imo.
Be difficult to recover from and how often have we seen great English players suffer when given the captaincy? Gower, Botham, Strauss, Cook and now Root all spring easily to mind. Only Atherton and Vaughan, in recent years, seem to have managed to maintain their playing performances when made captain.
Maybe England should just play Steve Smith in Perth.

England in the brink of defeat. Only James Anderson left. 211/9.
Still 48 runs short of just attempting to match Australia's 662 opener.

Disastrous restart today. Broad caught for bought. Anderson 0/4 this far.
