    No capital joy for Motherwell

Hearts got the only goal of a scrappy encounter at Tynecastle to beat a much weakened Motherwell team. We will need to hope that a few regulars return soon.

Seven points out of a possible 21 certainly doesn’t set the standard to finish in top six.Lose our next two games away to Thistle and Kilmarnock and we will be dragged back into the pack.

It would appear that our squad is not as strong as we thought in the middle and up front.

Nope although I don't think it's quite as bad as the headline numbers suggest when you consider those seven games include Celtic twice, Pittodrie, Tynecastle and Hibs.

We're going to struggle without Moult of course but the coming run on paper should be much easier. Thistle, Killie, Dundee, Rangers and Hamilton has to be producing 8-10 points if we're to be relaxed going into January.

We should have had at least a draw; in truth, though, I just couldn't see who was going to score for us. In the post Moult era, which we may well already be into, we'll need guys like Tanner to step forward. I thought that he looked decent today.
We had Hearts defending and time-wasting on their own patch for the entire second half; it's irritating to come away with nothing.

Don’t understand why Tanner doesn’t play from the start? He gives us better options and works harder than Fisher and Rose .Next few games will be pivotal in where we hope to finish in the league,
