Thread: Frank Casper is 73 years old today.

Frank Casper is 73 years old today.

I can remember watching his first game for us after we signed him from Rotherham like it was yesterday.

Happy Birthday Frank, where have all the years gone?

Class act was Frank, he scored a few, but he used to miss sitters for fun as well. Happy Birthday Frank, as they would say on MOTD, top, top player.

Our first signing from another club for almost 10 years.
269 games 89 goals whose career was largely ended by Norman Hunter taking retribution during a 4-1 Burnley win. That took the sting out of our cup semi final and league challenge.
    Happy Birthday

largely underrated as a player and should have played many times for England- will never forgive hunter or for that mistake that let Poland knock us out at Wembley-

Saw his 100th at the Turf against QPR

Shame Frank could nt quite cut it as a manager but will always be s legend-

Any one at Oxford when he hit that sweet left footer?

Yes gentlemen, Casper was quite a player. If memory serves, we paid 27,000 quid for him from Rotherham. That was quite a princely sum back then, particularly for Burnley. I wonder what he’d go for in today’s over-inflated transfer market?

Yes that was the first purchase since we bought Alex Elder from Glentoran for £3000 10 years earlier. We then topped him getting Colin Waldron from Chelsea for £30000 a few months later.

Aye BT. I vividly remember his debut for us at 'Turf against Coventry. He scored a blinder early on and became a favorite with us straight away.

One of the most intelligent players I have seen at Burnley.

Never forgive the coward Hunter or Don Revie for his early demise. How the hell did Leeds continue to get away with that stuff for years?

And then Revie became manager of England....

No, I missed that ID, the only time I've seen us play at Oxford that other legend, Ian Wright, was playing for us.
