    Well done Palmylad!

Totally agree that Queens / Queens Mad / the official site are trying their best with regards to social media, - but the local newspapers are still the medium for those of a certain vintage, - and we must ensure that they along with West Sound Radio are pumping out the message that Queens are playing top class opposition in the next two weeks.

I've tried to get the message across to some folks from Tokyo who are over for the ice hockey world championships, - we need to ensure that everyone involved there has the opportunity to come and watch football as well as ice hockey. In other words, posters and flyers should be readily available to them.

Tragically, our support is literally dying out, - not because Queens have done anything wrong, - it's just that our hard core supporters are reducing year on year. The only way forward is to promote the cause to our young people, and God knows, Queens have tried there too.

There are no silver bullets for this conundrum, - but every reasonable way of attracting youngsters and those in their 20's and 30's needs to be placed on the table for consideration.

It is no exaggeration, - but unless we find ways of attracting the future support, - it won't matter if Abramovitch himself comes forward, we will continue to see our core support dwindle.

One of our usual suspects has an alternative view

Attendances are down because we've dished up some distinctly average performances especially at home. Route one slow build up negative football even if we have been doing ok points wise.

This kind of display is exactly what we have been badly missing , attacking fluent football and hopefully it will indeed drag the floaters back

So it has eventually sunk home that money does not grow on trees and we must just continue fighting above our weight on a tight budget

There are many people connected with Queens who work their butts off for nothing and keep this great wee club alive and we salute you all. The problem is that this is not appreciated by a large majority of the football public following in Dumfries and Galloway.

Yes Amin the team of volunteers need to be roundly applauded by us all as without them I just do not know where the club would be. Another factor which I think hinders the crowd number is Dumfries rather remote location when compared to the rest of Scotland. If you look at the Central belt there have been some very health crowds at the Championship games this year and that is without the big guns who have gradually been promoted. I put this down to local rivalry and the relative ease of getting around the grounds in that compacted area. I think that the crowd that Queens take to away game is extraordinary given our location, the size of the town and the extent of travel required and again these fans need to be applauded. If we had some decent local derbies, remember those crowds when Gretna were making their way up, it would attract more local support but this would now appear to be pipe dream as neither Stranraer or Annan are likely to play us soon or boost the figures by much. We are what we are and only a very attractive and successful team is likely to stir any interest in the locals so hopefully Naysmith can eventually deliver and we are appear to be heading in the right direction and are not too far away. Fingers crossed.

One simple thing that the powers that be could help us with is for the computer to keep Annan Athletic home matches away from QOS home matches.

I will not mention any other possibilities, - but it doesn't take a blind man to realise that people can't attend both and given that we have a limited population, - we need to maximise the opportunities for football fans to watch their top senior side.

It could be worse. At least Queens are established in the Championship and not in League One.

The reason the travelling support is decent it is because its the central belt supporters mainly. The ones that don't travel down to see Queens at Palmerston. The travel club could usually fill at least two buses for most games not so long ago.Now they sometimes struggle to fill even one.Sad but true!

On the subject of the fixtures computer why is it that season after season we are presented with a fixture list containing periods of three or indeed four weeks without a home game only to find the reverse trend at other periods where we might have three home games on the spin. (I am meaning league games here as I appreciate cup ties can also intervene and that is down to the luck of the draw whether we are home or away)
For a club like Queens operating on marginal budgets, three/four weeks without a home game must represent a financial stretch to say the least. I also don't believe having three successive home games at other periods truly compensates either as I am sure a considerable number of supporters, particularly those who bring along their kids, find three straight home games a bit of a financial challenge and it would only be reasonable to assume some may then start to choose their games rather than attend all.
We operate in a ten team league we have no teams sharing the same town or stadium to impact on scheduling (granted Dundee Utd home fixtures need to be managed around Premier League Dundee's) so why not a straightforward set of alternate home and away fixtures ?
