    The Burnley effect

Soon the press will be taking interest in us and looking for our secrets. I think these would not work anywhere but Burnley because it is a club where unlike most other P L clubs the chair and directors are local, there are no big shots and they have invested carefully in Sean Dyche and his plans for infrastructure, training, facilities, young players and getting some mature heads to bring them on. The fans must also take some credit for being patient and supportive in times of difficulty and relegation.

The Board has spotted good talent. Eddie Howe was here before Dyche, he’s done well since he left. Success has been achieved even when we had to sell Charlie Austin to keep going when Sean came and we have since sold Jay Rodriguez, Danny Ings, Kieran Trippier, Michael Keane, Andre Gray. Other good players have left for glory elsewhere and failed to reproduce their Burnley form.

Sean has a good backroom Team and squad and has worked with the board to agree and deliver an affordable successful plan. Many players are English and they must work as a team to a clear plan. Big heads will be told to change or leave. The club is now in surplus and has a lot of youngsters coming through. This is back to the 50s and 60s when we punched well above our weight. Now we are winning games ugly, and have five top players injured yet are still getting clean sheets.

The PL may well be changed if we can continue this momentum. Qualifying for Europe would really get the media attention I don’t expect this to happen, given the injuries our key players seem to be picking up. But you never know.
Many others may try to follow the Burnley model but Will it work anywhere else. I doubt it!

The club has also innovated as it was even behind setting up a University that now has campuses at Wembley and Etihad as well as Turf Moor.

Well done Sean, The Board players and supporters all. Now just win at Brighton and we could be safe from relegation already!

It could only work at Burnley. The money with billionaire owners at most clubs in the prem is obscene. They treat thier club like a toy and will spunk money all over the place to get the so called best managers and players. Its just a rich mans ego trip.

Should have also mentioned the investment of the in the community project and the development of the Ladies team and plans for disabled fans to show this is a whole package that involves the town too. We even have a famous mascot!

Jut too much good news to pack into one small article OC, but you certainly gave it a damned good go!
