At the risk of stating the obvious, they've gone and done it again (conceded a late goal). The problem has become so chronic, that it's a surprise now when it doesn't happen. I've only seen the Rotherham match this season, when they conceded a late equalizer, in my opinion for backpedalling too much after scoring, instead of adopting a more aggressive approach (either defensively with tighter marking or in taking the match to their opponents). Instead they let Rotherham come at them leaving them to monopolize possession (a suicidal policy if ever there was one). So 2 questions for regular supporters who have to suffer this deficiency week in week out :

    1) How many points have we lost this season to late goals ?
    2) What policy should they adopt to cut out this obvious weakness (that opponents everywhere must be well aware of) ?

The Star reported yesterday that we "have now dropped nine points due to late goals". That would have put us around 9th in the table.
As far as the second question is concerned I don't know the answer, but my gut feeling is that it is time to change the manager, as his style of play just doesn't seem to be working. We have only won 3 home matches so far this season, and only 3 away ones. That just isn't good enough.

Too many young and inexperienced players we need experienced midfielder and also goal scorer but they are few about .we are not playing too bad but seem too switch off late on.He needs to be active in the transfer window

How more obvious does it need to be that we are in trouble?

We are constantly scraping along just above the drop zone and it is clear this team is incapable of achieving even a mid-table place. Fergie talks of only tweaking the team at Christmas, but that is not enough! If we can’t beat Oldham at home we are going to continue to struggle. I am convinced it will be touch and go whether we can stay up as we always have a poor second half to the season. We don’t have a single striker who is capable of standing out in League One. And our defenders are too busy trying to score themselves to do their defensive duties and that’s why we concede late goals. That’s the trouble with being an attacking team rather than a balanced team, no-one is watching the back door and we get hit on the break.

Fergie’s time will be up this summer if we go down again and that is easily possible with the team that he built.
