I'm a Rafa fan. I think he was very much hindered by what he was allowed to spend in the summer and so filled the squad with what he could. I don't agree with all his selections but I can understand in a different way...

I'm not involved with football, but I have managed various establishments all over the world for 15 years or so.

I'm going to Base this anology on my current pub in London.

Quality not quantity. I have 10 front of house staff. Only myself, my supervisor and my team leader are any good. We have to compensate for the others whilst doing our own jobs.

If I could bring in two more supervisors that did their job perfectly to get rid of the rest of the idiots, would I do it? No! Because that would leave me low on bodies!

But I have members if staff loved by my customers, "you've got a good one there, Paul! " But they don't see how lazy they are, how unreliable they are, how they cause myself and the rest of the team to work harder/more often/ longer hours! How I can't get the most simplistic instruction to stick in their head!

I can't pay my servers/ barstaff a lot so I get what I pay for and have to do my best!

That's what Rafa is doing!
