****in hell. Serious Old Firm mentality going on here. St. Mirren gettting preferential treatment ffs. A loan system that ANYONE can use. A game being called off that OUR PLAYERS asked to be called off.

I'm referring more to the media darling aspect, if you listen to the radio or read the media it's obvious they are the favoured team to be promoted, unless you are blind, deaf, or zipped up the back

There is also no question had that game yesterday involved Celtic or The Rangers a big fuss would have been made out of it

    Media makes massive difference.

Picture the scene - Celtic player goes down in the box against United. Penalty given. United man sent off. 3 game suspension.
Media: ‘seen them given’ ‘defender should know better than to dive in’

United player goes down in the box. Would penalty be given by referee scared of old firm / media reaction? Irrespective it would be in media ‘any kind of dive is unacceptable’ ‘suspend united man for diving!’

Little bit of exaggeration but not that much.

It’s a game of fine margins but the self perpetuatuing cycle of the old firm getting decisions, winning matches, getting support and getting all the money going - relies on the media helping it all along

You're using the old firm as your example there. Why not new media darlings St Mirren?

Any west coast club is going to be favoured by the west coast media, plus we seem to be pretty unpopular for Sevcos death and sacking Jackie. Not saying the abandonment is anything to do with that though.
At the end of the day we need to do our talking on the pitch.

United are unpopular in media. Reasons why I think stem from late McLean era when unpopular with journos (or thumping them) via the sevco grudge and throw in on top the current chairman

Probably always perceived as a bit different from the norm by west coast Old Firm media who have never been supportive

Club say ‘extremely disappointed’ at call off

Sounds like club don’t agree with decision to abandon at all.

I actually agree with the sentiment of an official release from the club for once!

Absolutely no doubt whatsoever there is a weegie orientated, massive bias towards the west coast teams. This goes way beyond just the two bstrd weegie clubs. Been this way for the past 40+ years.

Re the St Murn thing, certainly there, perpetuated in a moothpiece fashion by Pryk Young the pretendy St Mirren fan who hates United due to his Hunnery leanings. Heard the radio commentary boy enthusing constantly about them and another great attendance at their game, 3.5K or something.

Have to say though, I have great respect for fans of all the other weegie area clubs, who follow and support their teams and not the two bstrd clubs.
