    Alan Pardew formations

I do like, as expected, that AP is looking to get more offensive and at least try to get the team to create and score goals. I just hope he has learnt one major lesson from today’s game though:

Please don’t play Livermore, Yacob and Gregor K, as the midfield 3 ever again!

They all do have some attributes in midfield but making telling forward passes to create chances is not one of them, or at least not nearly enough anyway. Too many square and back passes slowing down the play and not hurting the opposition in the final third.

That said so much more promise and creativity than under TP but we do need some fresher and younger blood brought in during the Transfer window to help get us out of the bottom 3 (please). Fundamentally for me we crucially lack any pace all over the team (Burke and McLean excepted) and that is so needed in the PL.

Second-half was much better. First-half was dire tactically, Pulis would have been crucified for that midfield trio. Hope Pardiola learned some lessons. Onwards and upwards (hopefully) COYB.
