One of my favourites......still recall him sitting on the ball at the corner flag having a chat with the fans.....whilst the ball was still in play!
Mind you, with the refs these days he'd spend even more time banned that he would playing!!
They broke the mold when he left......a very sad day!

Still my all time favourite player.

My brother was a decent winger.....our old man would bring him up the Albion and just tell him to watch Willie and learn.

A bit of me died when he left and has never come back,I'd give anything to go back to 77-78 for one more chance to watch him live again.

No other winger apart from Laurie has been fit to lace his boots in the last 40 years.

    Not even Mark Angel.

Does Ampadu's son play for Chelsea ? If so he must be better than his dad .

Probably my all time favourite Albion player. Didn't he sit on the ball in front of Clough and Taylor in that 5th Round FA Cup match v Forest and Clough jumped out of the dug out shaking his fist or is my memory playing tricks?
