Player ratings game 20 Man U

    Nick Pope 8
Strong decision making in dealing with balls into the box and made one stunning save to deny Lingard

    Phil Bardsley 7
Relished his latest Old Trafford return with a combative display and got forward well to support Gudmundsson

    Kevin Long 9
Struggled against Kane but far better at Old Trafford, including one brilliant sliding block on an Ibrahimovic shot

Ben Mee 9 (Man of the Match)
Captain fantastic at the back for the Clarets. Didn’t give Lukaku a sniff as he made light of the height disadvantage with a clever defensive display. Got his body in the way of everything and so unlucky with late equaliser

    Charlie Taylor 8
Booked for a tug on Mata but another composed display at left-back and justifying Sean Dyche’s faith in him

    Johann Berg Gudmundsson 8
Free-kick created the first half and Burnley’s chief creative presence throughout the afternoon. Confident in possession

    Jack Cork 7
Not as bright as his midfield colleague and saw little of the ball after break but positionally excellent to deny United angles.

    Steven Defour 8
His 25-yard free-kick will live long in the memory. Worked his socks off in midfield battle as well.

    Scott Arfield 7
Hit the bar with one inventive first-half flick and won the free-kick for second goal. Encouraging display

    Jeff Hendrick 8
Much improved on recent displayuss. Heavily involved in Burnley’s best work and won the free-kick for first goal.

    Ashley Barnes 9
Was never going to miss from inside the six-yard box and tormented United defence with all-action display

the game ended in a draw but Sean Dyche’s men were clearly the better side throughout the match.

    Nick Pope – 7/10
Although he picked up a booking, Pope put in quite a solid display and Dyche is likely to be happy with the way he is improving.

    Phil Bardsley – 6.5/10
He made a couple of rough challenges and even picked up a booking but was quite sturdy to keep trouble at bay.

    Kevin Long – 7/10
Much like the other Burnley defenders, Long put his body on the line to defend and it did work. He made some decent clearances throughout the match.

    Ben Mee – 8/10
Mee put in a highly resilient performance today and was quite stoic for large spells. One particular goal-line clearance from the player was truly a testament to his improving skills.

    Charlie Taylor – 6.5/10
The player was caught out on certain occasions but he seemed to truly relish the atmosphere at Old Trafford.

    Johann Berg Gudmundsson – 7/10
Gudmundsson did his duty well even though he lacked a creative spark which he displayed in a couple of recent matches.

    Jack Cork – 7.5/10
A resilient and calculated display from the midfielder ensured Burnley maintained domination in the middle of the park.

    Steven Defour – 7/10
Defour came close to scoring due to a splendidly taken free-kick but David De Gea denied his effort. Overall, a good display from Defour.
    So he didn’t score??

    Jeff Hendrick – 8/10
Hendrick put in a composed display but he knew when to amp up the tempo and kept switching admirably well.

    Scott Arfield – 6/10
Made a couple of blocks here and there and went through the motions with energy.

    Ashley Barnes – 7.5/10
His opener was quite influential and set the tone for the game at Old Trafford. He did pick up a booking but put on a well-rounded display.

    Subs:
    Sam Vokes – 6/10
Put on a reassuring display but he picked up a booking as well.

    Jonathan Walters – 5/10
Came on quite late with about 10 minutes remaining and did not have much time to make an impact.
