I've had a great time .
I don't know about you lot but to me that was the shortest, dullest non event of an Xmas I can recall?
Maybe because it fell on a Monday and Tuesday and I was working yesterday and today but it just felt like a normal week.
I'll have the tree down by tonight and the tinsel packed away.
Can't wait for New Year's Eve......another pointless load of b o l l o x.
If any t w a t turns up at my front door with a lump of coal I'll stick it up his right nostril!
Happy new year to you all........I reckon it'll be 1986 all over again when we won 4 and drew 12 and finished bottom.
I've had a great time .
Sod Christmas...sod New Year's eve....January 9th is when my wife and begin the biggest fight of our lives...it needs no explanation other than it concerns my wife more than I...
Best wishes from me too GLM.
My post was as usual "tongue in cheek".......for me it's a reminder of my dad and grandparents who are no longer with me.
For me the best present was seeing my son happy and healthy after years of addiction and after 4 months of self imposed rehab.
His fight is a daily one and I'm proud to say that he starts training to be a counsellor in January.
All the very best to your wife GLM.......a good friend of mine is just coming out of the other side of a six month battle against a very rare cancer and she's now being told she's clear for now,the battle has been gruelling but the prize is beyond value.
All the best GLM.
I don't care much about Christmas. The day with all the grandchildren round was okay (they all behaved impeccably) and the build up was good as we went to a couple of enjoyable plays and a Pantomime with three of the grandkids.
The 2 problems I have with it are the commercialisation of it plus the fact that we are not religious in the slightest so celebrating the birth of a mythical baby has no appeal.
Also the local skittles league has no fixtures for 3 weeks!
