A new updated OS will always slow down an older phone that doesn't have the processing power to run it efficiently.

Ye they won't be the only ones. I'm due an upgrade in Jan, have the Samsung S6 atm and that's never slowed down and I've always done the updates. Be sticking with android because it's a good OS and Iphones are way overpriced for out of date tech. But also be sticking with macs as mi computer, could never go back to Windows.

Especially when bugs are put in.
    Updates don't slow my android.
And I don't have to change my charger ever.

I think they said it was something to do with maximising the power from used batteries.

Newer versions of Android will slow down your phone/ tablet, of course they will, a program designed for a octa-core phone will run slower on a quad-core and slower still on a dual-core.

The only phone OS that was very efficient and ran smoothly on all their devices was Windows Phone 7 & but that never caught on with the public, by the time they got to Windows Phone 10 it was laggier than Android.
