Golf shops in Aberdeen, as Nevada Bobs closes

The older posters, like me, will remember the many independant golf shops that we used to have in Aberdeen, on top of all the local golf club pro shops.

There was Simpson Sports, Crombie Sports, Rosslyn Sports; then we had the franchises like Nevada Bobs and American Golf Discount.

Shame that Nevada Bobs has had to close, but the internet must be squeezing any profit margins out of these places, even the franchised ones.

Got me thinking though. There are internet sites like Golfbidder and GolfClubs4Cash dotted around the country, where you can buy and sell clubs, but nothing in Aberdeen

I miss the Rubber Shop

My god, there are shops closing that I never knew were open in the first place.

The Rubber Shop's a miss, especially downstairs.

At one time there would have been about 50 good independent sports retail shops in the country.
25 years later there's not 10.
