    10. Bomber took 61 penalties during his career, successfully converting 51. Manchester United's Alex Stepney was the keeper on three of those failed 10 occasions. But former Albion team-mate Bob Ward was less fortunate. Then with Blackpool, Ward remembered that Bomber liked to blast his penalties down the middle. Bomber was wise to this - as Ward stood still, awaiting a thumping spot-kick, Bomber placed his kick to the side of the ex-Albion man. It was the only ‘placed’ penalty of his career.
I remember him sticking one over the bar into the Smethwick. It may have been against Leicester.

Yesterday's miss didn't really matter but the way we are playing now we are likely to win more penalties before the end of the season so we need to decide who the penalty taker is as the next one will be far more important.

Spot on TB. Rodriguez was all set to take the penalty until the ball got taken from him. It can't come soon enough that we get we get this overpaid waster HRK out of our club. The sooner the better.

Whoever is the penalty taker must have confidence and commitment. Brunt has shown this in the past and I don't see why he doesn't do the job now. I don't think that Barry would be unduly phased by the job either. HRK's effort was awful and an extreme example of the powder puff type of effort only too common at the moment.

I remember that Bomber miss at the Smethwick end. Also that one in the 6th round against Chelsea when instead of leathering it high and central he went to the side of the very agile Peter Bonetti.

Same game. Bomber took a corner. It went right in I swear. I was in line in the old Halfords. David Cross followed it in and was given the goal. Bomber did also score in the game. We won 2-0.. Strange really I can't remember what happened yesterday.

Anyone remember the "rock, paper, scissors" penalty? Was it Donavan and Lady Hamilton?
