yeah ill agree with you there tbh durnan was a good cb with qots. maybe the step up was too big at the time not just in division but also in size of club. going from qots to united has different challenges. i do think if he had an experienced cb alongside him in the premier league he would have been good in top division. he needed a webster instead he had donaldson.

i do still think he would be decent if we got up. maybe not be the key player he is for us now but i do think he could cut it in top level if he got another crack. the experience will have improved him imo.

I would take the challenge of building a team for next season. Durnan one of the best CBs in this division imo and maybe wouldnt be able to take that up. It would be a full team rebuild surely anyway?

the marging of the scoreline was a freak perhaps, but away from home we have been comprehensively outplayed on numerous occasions, so the result certainly wasnt a freak, not forgetting we were pretty unimpressive for long spells against Brechin 4 days earlier, and when you consider we have taken 2/9 pts away from home against brechin and falkirk, the 2 sides that have pretty much occupied the bottom 2 spots for most of the season.

That makes desperate reading - and should go on the wall of the dressing room at East End park!

No reason why durnan couldn’t do a better job if we got back up

As you say having someone decent alongside him would help

We were an absolute mess under Mixu in the season we went down
