    I seem to remember reading somewhere not long ago that Mark Hughes was on less than £ 1m pa at Stoke compared to £ 15m for the likes of Guardiola or Mourinho, but that may be just the basic and ignore performance bonuses. Thus I would doubt an untested championship manager would be on much more than £ 0.5 million which would be less than the top players under his control. I think Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink was on 40k a year when Burton got promoted! Clough probably pays Burton to do the job!

    Bilic went as low as 1/10 for the job but has now said that he wants to keep his feet up for the rest of the season.

    Stoke have according to the Daily Mail said the £1.7m compensation for Rowett would not be an issue.

    Mel is reported on the DET as saying any approach would be knocked back.

    I knew Mel and GR were talking about a contract extension but was unaware that one had been offered.

    It's on BBC. He's been offered and expected to sign it today ending any speculation.
