Greeted with these when i went for a stoor last night
Ha ha superb.
Last time was November 17 1999.
I had to give the passort control guy a pen so he could write down details. Customs closed at 6 and the flight was 11pm. Carry my bags through to departure area after check in.
Place was like an oven. Nae air-con or airport lounges. A can of coke was 5 bucks. Next we had to carry our bags oot to the plane, an Air Angola 747 flying to Paris. Bags searched on the runway and then we carried them to the handlers at the bottom of the conveyor.
Back then you could smoke on these flights and the plane was full of Russian sailors. I was fair reeking when I got if the flight. Black and white 1950’s film on the screen. Trolley Dolly came trotting down with the food with a fag sticking out of the corner of her mouth. Real classy I passed on the food.
My abiding memory of Luanda apart from nearly being jailed was being in the car and every time you stopped at traffic lights they would jump out trying to sell stuff. I remember 1 guy combing to the car with a chandelier in each hand.
