Hearts had a bunch of different supporter groups and now have one.

So there's an obvious and nearby example of the way to go about it.

For me DUSF should've pursued a one group solution from their inception.

That is the big difference between them and Foundation of Hearts and why they have had a very poor uptake in pledges etc.

Supporters think "I pay my subs to trust/fed/dubc/ult etc so why would I pay more?". Especially for a further fractured support?

FOH became the one single group.

That's the only way fans can influence things.

Without it, it is down to the shareholders to try and make it happen.

Amd this IMO is the problem straight away A, all we hear is 'join, membership is £15' well personally im seeing no real reason to join as i dont see them do much at board room level, youth, charity work etc aye, great, they do a fantastic job but to have someone in the boardroom? Whats he actually doing in there??? This is a question alot of AT members have been asking for some time.

Forget the trust in isolation for a moment.

What about one group instead of all the multitude we have, OA?

A new group. United Arab Emirates perhaps? (Could be called the Nolan Sisters for all I care.)

One new group coming out of all the group's joining together.

I believe the thing that most folks forget is that anyone proporting to represent the fans represents all of the fans wheather they agree with their views or otherwise. I think this goes un noticed by a lot of people.

I'm not sure if the multifarious groups are working against each other as PF suggests or whether his notion that all the Hearts groups had to unite as one to make progress is true (tho I'm not doubting him, substantiation from a Jambo might confirm).
There's a couple of elbows at DUSF as well I see which are unwarranted & I personally believe their founders have the manpower to achieve something. Did DUSF speak to other groups (ArabTrust, DUBC, Federation, even FU, etc) before taking off? I imagine they did but too many egos might have been bruised in the dilution of 'power' or status (eh'm secy of the *** & eh'm no movin')
PF, put your money where your mouth is, unite the groups.

I'm not going to be able to unite them Smeds.

I knew folks on all the groups. People I respect. I have bemoaned to them in the past about their being too many groups.

Surely the desired destination is the same for all groups?

A healthy and successful Dundee United?

The issues that exist seem to me to be long rooted.

And despite my prodding of folk in these groups in person etc the will just doesn't seem there.

It will have to come from within.

And here's your Hearts corroboration just so you can be assured I'm not talking out my arse

In 2013, the Foundation was joined by all the Hearts supporters' organisations – the Federation of Hearts Supporters Clubs, the Heart of Midlothian Shareholders' Association, the Heart of Midlothian Supporters’ Trust, Hearts Youth Development Committee (HYDC), and Save Our Hearts. With the support of Supporters Direct Scotland, and under the chairmanship of Ian Murray MP, this new united group is working under the Foundation of Hearts ‘banner’ to take forward the fan ownership vision.

    So, very interesting, Frank.

    Two things emerge:

1 - the involvement of Supporters Direct Scotland - have they been approached/involved with United as yet?
2 - Ian Murray MP as a figurehead. Politics aside, a supportive MP/MSP could be a good person to unite the clans, so to speak. I know that Stewart Hosie is an Arab. I think Joe Fitzpatrick is at least an interested onlooker, if not actually a fan. Could we not approach either of them, via the DUSF. Or whichever organisation is going to take a strong lead?

    Interesting points Mecca.

SDS would no doubt get involved. I think they've been involved in several fan reorganisation initiatives. Most notably with FOG.

Stephen Gethins MP in Fife is an Arab too.

Not something that had occurred to me but I suppose you would have two independent figures in SDS and an independent figurehead in a politician to help facilitate.
